Refunds policy

You can request a refund, if you provide us with at least 2 hours notice before the start of the show you have booked. Refunds can be provided in person at the cinema box office, or over the phone on our Refund Line 0207 018 3629 (10am to 6pm, calls charged at your local rate).

The refund request must be made by the person who made the booking and refunds will be issued to the same payment method. Any tickets purchased in-person at the cinema will need to be returned to the cinema in order to claim a refund. Any booking fees are nonrefundable. 


Terms of Admission

1. Definitions

  1. 'You' means everyone who purchases a ticket and everyone who visits a cinema operated by Picturehouse Cinemas Limited, whether or not they have purchased a ticket.
  2. 'Us' or 'We' means Picturehouse Cinemas Limited generally and each of the cinemas it operates and shall include any company in which Picturehouse Cinemas Limited has an ownership interest.
  3. A full list of the cinemas currently operated by us is available on our website at www.picturehouses.co.uk and/or www.picturehouses.com (the 'Website').
  4. 'PBL' means Picturehouse Bookings Limited.

2. Introduction

  1. These Terms of Admission, as may be from time to time amended, (these 'Terms') set out the general terms which apply to you.
  2. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.

3. Age Restrictions

  1. Entry to films and events is restricted by the classification given by the British Board of Film Classification or others. We are required to refuse admission to anyone who is below the minimum age required by the relevant classification.
  2. Anyone can be admitted to films classified as U or PG.
  3. Children under 12 can be admitted to films classified as 12A but only if accompanied by an adult (i.e. someone over the age of 18).
  4. Nobody under the age of 15 can be admitted to films classified as 15.
  5. Nobody under the age of 18 can be admitted to films classified as 18.
  6. Children under the age of 12 must be accompanied by someone who is at least 18 years of age to be admitted after 7.00pm. Children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by someone who is at least 18 years of age at all times (regardless of film classification).
  7. Babies under the age of one year can go into screenings providing that:
    1. they sit on a lap for the entire screening (i.e. do not take up a seat); and
    2. they are removed from the auditorium should they cause disturbance to other customers; and
    3. the film is classified as U, PG or 12A.
  8. Babies under the age of one will be admitted without charge. Tickets must be purchased for everyone else.
  9. We reserve the right to require you to prove your age with appropriate photographic ID if you are going to a 12A, 15 or 18 film or purchasing an alcoholic drink. If you are unable to prove your age you will not be able to watch the film or buy an alcoholic drink. We may ask for such proof at any time you are on our premises. Acceptable forms of ID include Passports, Driving Licences and ID cards which contain the PASS hologram, digital photographic ID displayed through the YOTI app and other forms of local ID cards that contain both a photograph and a verified date of birth. Birth certificate will only be accepted if accompanied by a form of photographic identification connecting the name on the birth certificate to the customer. Photocopies or photographs of ID will not be accepted.
  10. If you buy a ticket before we know its classification and you are not old enough to be admitted to the screening we will issue you with a full refund.

    4. Food And Drink

    1. No hot food or alcohol from outside the premises is permitted in the cinema building.
    2. You must observe the licensing regulations at the cinema concerning the sale and consumption of alcoholic drinks. In particular, you must not take untoughened glass into the auditorium.
    3. You must not smoke inside any of our premises. E-cigarettes cannot be used anywhere in our cinemas, the same as normal cigarettes.

    5. General

    1. The free tickets issued to Members as part of the Membership scheme can only be used for films and not for premium-priced events (unless otherwise notified).
    2. Mobile phones must be switched off or in silent mode before you enter the auditorium. You must not use phones inside the auditorium during the screening.
    3. To avoid disturbing customers who arrive on time, customers arriving after the film has started may be refused admission to the performance. Refunds will not be issued by us in these circumstances.
    4. You must adhere to any health and safety procedures or instructions that are in place and notified to you by our staff or by notices.
    5. It is a serious criminal offence to copy or attempt to copy any film or other copyright material exhibited in any part of the cinema, punishable on conviction with an unlimited fine and imprisonment of up to a maximum of ten years. You are not permitted to bring cameras and/or recording equipment of any kind into the cinema.
    6. As a courtesy to your fellow audience members, and to prevent film theft, we ask that customers do not enter any cinema auditorium using any 'wearable technology' capable of recording images. Any customer found wearing such technology will be asked to remove it and may be asked to leave the cinema.
    7. We endeavour to show films in accordance with the programme that we advertise. However, there may be circumstances in which we are unable to comply with the advertised programme and in such cases, our liability to you is limited to a full refund of the tickets purchased. We are unable to take responsibility for programme information advertised by third parties.
    8. Full refunds will be given (minus any booking fees paid) up to 2 hours before the showtime. Tickets will not be refunded if less than 2 hours notice is given.
    9. Full refunds for premium-priced events (minus any booking feeds paid) will not be given unless 2 hours notice is given.
    10. We do not accept requests for refunds by email. Applications for refunds should be made by telephone to our Refund Line 02070183629 (open 10.00 to 18.00 every day) or in person in the cinema.
    11. We reserve the right to ask for proof of status for concessionary tickets at any time that you are on our premises.
    12. You must not purchase tickets except for personal use and you represent and warrant that tickets are not purchased as part of any form of a for-profit business or commercial activity unless we have expressly authorised otherwise in writing.
    13. We accept no responsibility for any personal property that is brought to a cinema.
    14. You must comply with the conditions on our Licences as notified to you by our staff or by notices.

    6. Refusal Of Admission

    1. We reserve the right to refuse admission or require you to leave the premises without a refund if you:
      1. behave in an anti-social or threatening manner; or
      2. put the safety of our customers, our employees or our property at risk; or
      3. bring a camera or recording equipment

    7. Website – Terms Of Use

    1. The Terms in this section ('Website Terms') set out the legally binding terms which apply to everyone who accesses or uses the Website. By accessing or using the Website you agree to be bound by these Website Terms. If you do not wish to be bound by these Website Terms you must leave the Website immediately, or not enter it at all.
    2. The Website is provided free of charge and we make no guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. In addition, we reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, all or any part of the Website without notice and without liability.
    3. The Website and the materials on it are protected by copyright, trademark and other intellectual property rights and laws throughout the world. The materials on the Website are owned by or licensed to us and may not be copied, reproduced, republished, uploaded, posted, transmitted or distributed in any way without our consent. Modification of the materials or use of the materials for any other purposes is a violation of the copyrights and other proprietary rights.
    4. The Website contains links to another website which are not controlled by us. The fact that we may provide a link to any such website does not mean that we endorse that website. Such links are only provided for your convenience and you access them at your own risk.

    8. Online Purchases

    1. Tickets for films and events at our cinemas are sold by us at the prices displayed for the relevant performance and the amount payable for them will be debited immediately from your credit or debit card. By requesting tickets through the Website you are placing a booking request for them on these Terms which is only accepted and binding on us once we have debited your card.
    2. A confirmation booking reference will be displayed on your screen and emailed to you.
    3. The email confirmation of your booking will set out the details of the cinema tickets purchased and the total amounts paid for your tickets and other items. Once this confirmation has been sent, the ticket price may be refunded but only in accordance with Clause 5.8.
    4. In the case of tickets being offered for sale at the wrong price online (i.e. at a higher or lower price than is applicable at the Box Office) we reserve the right to insist that the tickets are refunded and the correct prices charged.
    5. You can collect your tickets from any point of sale in the cinema any time from when the booking is made until the start of the performance. You will need to bring either the card you paid with or a note of the booking reference to collect your tickets.
    6. Concessionary and children's tickets are offered for sale on the Website. In accordance with our General Terms, you must bring proof of status or age with you to the cinema to collect the tickets and to gain admission to the performance.
    7. Bookings made on the Website are encrypted for security. However, you acknowledge that the Internet is not entirely secure and whilst we and PBL will take reasonable steps to safeguard the security of any card information you impart, we shall not be liable for any damage you may suffer as a result of the loss of confidentiality of any such information.
    8. Members must enter their details at the time of purchasing to claim any discount, including discounts on the Card Booking Fee. It is not possible to amend the booking once it has been completed.
    9. Transactions will appear on your card/bank statement as a payment to PBL.
    10. Any food and drink items bought online are for consumption on the day of the performance. Items will not be refunded after the performance, even if you were unable to attend.

    9. Online and Telephone Booking Fees

    1. A Booking Fee of 70p per ticket will be payable separately by you to Picturehouse Cinemas Limited's sister company Picturehouse Bookings Limited ('PBL') for tickets purchased outside of the cinema, for example, online through the Picturehouse website or app or by phone. By confirming your booking you are agreeing to pay this Booking Fee to PBL in addition to the price you pay to us for your cinema ticket. Booking Fees do not apply to tickets purchased at the cinema.
    2. Once a booking is confirmed the Booking Fee is non-refundable.

    10. Customer Services

    2. In addition to our in-person and online facilities, we offer a telephone service for customers who wish to purchase tickets, listen to what's on or make Membership enquiries. Details of the numbers and the associated costs are published on the Website.
    3. We do not have a telephone line for customers to contact us by telephone in relation to contracts entered into with us. Such enquiries can be dealt with in person at the cinema for which you have bought tickets.

    11. Jurisdiction

    1. This agreement shall be governed by, construed and enforced in accordance with the laws of England. Any action you or we bring to enforce this agreement shall only be brought in the courts of England and you expressly consent to the jurisdiction of said courts. If any provision of this agreement shall be unlawful, void or for any reason unenforceable then that provision shall be deemed severable from this agreement and shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any remaining provisions.


Outdoor Cinema - Summer 2024

  • All ticket purchases include a £5 credit towards food or drink at the venue.
  • Member free tickets cannot be used for Outdoor Cinema - however, Members can still receive £3 off their ticket purchase. For more info, see the Free Tickets section of our Terms & Conditions.
  • Doors open at 7.30pm; the film will begin at around 9pm – as soon as it gets dark.
  • The screening takes place outdoors in the open.
  • Blankets, cushions and small picnic chairs are allowed.
  • Deck Chairs will be supplied but availability will be limited and offered on a first-come-first-served basis.
  • A limited number of blankets will be available for purchase.
  • Rain ponchos will be available to purchase at the event.
  • The screenings are licensed events, no alcohol can be brought in from the outside but customers can bring non-alcoholic drinks and snacks.
  • A bar providing alcoholic drinks, snacks, soft drinks and popcorn will be available.
  • Outdoor cinema is cashless, we can only accept payments via card / contactless.
  • We will be adopting the Challenge 25 policy when selling alcohol. The Outdoor Team reserves the right to decline any sale of alcohol.
  • The Outdoor Management Team reserves the right to deny admission for any reason.
  • All guests are encouraged to take waste away with them and to recycle wherever possible. 
  • Heavy rain, high winds and thunderstorms may be cause for cancellation. Outdoor Management reserves the right to stop the screening at any point and cancel the remainder if the weather poses a risk to attendees. In the event of a cancellation before the event, we will endeavour to contact all customers as soon as possible. All customers will be entitled to a full refund if the event is cancelled either before or during the screening.
  • With the exception of assistance dogs and those attending our dog friendly screening events, pets are not allowed into our cinemas, including auditoriums. Well behaved dogs are allowed into cafe areas in our venues, although we reserve the right to decline entry at the cinema manager's discretion. We may change this policy at any time without notice.
  • All events are in open spaces and on grass. There is step-free access to all venues but some spaces have slopes and banks to be aware of. We will have accessible toilet facilities. Should you need assistance at any event, please make a member of staff aware.
