ACCESSIBILITY AT THE RITZY

This page explains the current facilities for people with disabilities and is intended to assist you in planning your visit.

Advance booking

Advance booking is always a good idea so that our staff can readily provide assistance if required or prepare a wheelchair space in advance of your arrival. Accompanying carers are eligible for a free ticket.

Customers with limited mobility

The main entrance gives access to the Box Office, kiosk, bar and four of our screens. The fifth screen and main floor of the café can be accessed via a lift to the first floor. Our main auditorium (Screen 1) has six wheelchair spaces, the other four (Screens 2-5) have two each. All wheelchair spaces are positioned on the front row.

Visually impaired customers

Guide dogs are welcome. If you wish to take your dog into a performance, please let us know when booking so that we can arrange an aisle seat. Alternatively, your dog can be cared for by a member of staff for the duration of the performance and we will be happy to provide drinking water for your dog. Screens 2, 3,4 and 5 are all equipped with audio descriptive equipment.

Customers with impaired hearing

We offer headphones to those with impaired hearing in all our screens. Some of our screenings have English-language subtitles for customers with hearing impairments. Please contact the cinema for further information.

Disabled parking

There are no parking facilities directly outside the cinema. However, parking bays are located around the corner on Rushcroft Road. Please note that during the day these spaces fill rapidly.

Toilets

Customer toilets are located on both the ground floor and the first floor. An adapted toilet for wheelchair users is located on the ground floor on the main corridor to the screens. There is an emergency call-point in this toilet should a user need to summon assistance.

Relaxed screenings

Relaxed screenings are specially designed to make cinema-going easier and more accessible to those who may need additional support when they visit. These screenings are ideal for neurodivergent audiences of all ages, those living with dementia, and their families, friends, and carers, but all are welcome.

Relaxed screenings will show films without adverts or trailers. Lights are left on low, the volume is reduced, and the audience is free to move around and take breaks from the screen whenever needed.

We typically show:
A classic film every last Friday of the month (with interval)

Whilst we do our best to ensure these screenings happen consistently, please note that on occasion the regular slot may change. Make sure to check local listings ahead of your screening.
