This event is an ideal way to develop students' understanding of Shakespeare introducing them to his world, his plays and how they have been adapted for the screen. We will explore Shakespeare's life, the role of the Globe Theatre, plus in-depth analysis of extracts from some of his famous plays, from tragedies such as Hamlet and Macbeth to the romance and inevitable despair of Romeo and Juliet.
An ideal introduction to Shakespeare for KS2 through various Film & TV Adaptations of Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet, and A Midsummer Night's Dream. The day will include drama activities, character analysis, and comparisons of different adaptations of Shakespeare's work, including animations, silent film, and musicals.
From black and white to 3D, pupils will be taken on a journey through film - with a few special effects thrown in along the way!
Subjects: History, Science, English
